WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- An 18-year-old man riding a dirt bike was seriously hurt after a hit-and-run on Sunday evening in D.C., police said.

Around 7:15 p.m., officers from the Northern District responded to the crash on Crain Highway near Main Avenue SW in Glen Burnie.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a Honda 125R dirt bike was traveling southbound on Crain Highway and weaving through traffic while "disobeying traffic control devices."

The driver on the dirt bike moved into the shared turn lane when a gold or brown/tan-colored minivan, also heading south, made a U-turn to head northbound and struck the dirt bike. The minivan then fled the scene.
