WISHEK, ND (KXNET) — Montana-Dakota Utilities has received more than $2 million in funding to build a new transmission line in the southeast part of the state, which will feed into Wishek.

The North Dakota Industrial Commission, comprised of Gov. Kelly Armstrong, Attorney General Drew Wrigley and Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring, announced the award under the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The program is composed of 85% federal and 15% state funds.

The commission also awarded more than $500,000 to McLean Electric Cooperative for upgrading oil circuit reclosers to dielectric reclosers.
