MUNCIE, Ind — A 35-year-old man is dead after a police shooting Sunday evening Muncie.

The suspect was identified by the Delaware County coroner as Jesse Lee Robinson. Indiana State Police said he was shooting at houses and would not listen to Muncie Police Department officers when they arrived.

It happened near East 23rd Street and South Mock Avenue on Muncie's south side. Leona Stewart was visiting a nearby park with her great-grandchildren and said it is usually a quiet place. She lives three blocks away and lived in Muncie her whole life.

"When you look around now, you don't see anything," Stewart said. "This is what you usually see every day right here."

On Monday, there was still police tape near where the shooting happened.
