The number of people who have died from dangerously hot weather in Swindon has been revealed.

This comes ahead of more hot weather predicted by the Met Office for Swindon in the next week.

A response to a Freedom of Information request lodged by the Local Democracy Reporter with Swindon Borough Council said: “In the past 5 years, fewer than five deaths have been recorded in Swindon with heat-related causes, based on death certificate data.

“Due to the small number of cases, further demographic details and breakdowns have been withheld to protect individual privacy.”
