When my daughter Nora was born, one of the things I looked forward to most was introducing her to real food. There’s nothing sweeter than those first tastes — whether it’s a face of surprise, puckered lips or a joyful death grip on the spoon reaching for more. But babyhood is fleeting. Before long, I found myself navigating toddlerhood, where strong opinions around food can emerge — and the possibility of raising a “picky eater” becomes very real.

As a registered dietitian, food plays a big role in my life. I love food. I love talking about it, cooking it, sharing it — and I wanted my kids to love it, too.
