Actor John Goodman's storied Garden District mansion has a buyer. But Goodman isn't leaving New Orleans, his realtor said.
Months after lowering the asking price from $5.45 million to $4.75 million, the Coliseum Street house is under contract, according to the real estate website Zillow .
Goodman, 73, and his wife Anna Beth, who met at Tipitina’s, bought the 1850s home in 2005 from Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor for $1.8 million.
The couple raised their kids in the Joseph Merrick Jones House and were interested in "downsizing a bit," said Hyatt Hood , broker for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. He declined to comment on whether he helped the couple find another property in the city but said that they "expect to maintain a home in New Orleans."
