The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Joby Aviation will be acquiring the helicopter rideshare division of Blade Air Mobility. This acquisition will see Joby Aviation take control of Blade's passenger helicopter division along with the Blade brand name. The medical division will operate as a public company and is being rebranded, while partnering with Joby for medical transportation.

Blade Air Mobility is a New York-based transportation company that partners with aircraft operators around the world. It's most famous for its helicopter operations, operating routes such as Manhattan to New York JFK Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport . It also operates helicopters as well as fixed-wing aircraft in Canada, Southern Europe, and India.
