Grunthal Drop Zone is being allowed fewer parking stalls than what the municipality's bylaw requires.

Grunthal Drop Zone is undertaking an expansion of their youth drop-in facility at 156 Park Street. Hanover's Zoning Bylaw requires a total of 52 parking stalls to accommodate the additional square footage. However, because of the building footprint, they are only able to accommodate 21 parking stalls.

A public hearing was held last meeting by Council for the Rural Municipality of Hanover, with Grunthal Drop Zone requesting the required parking stalls be varied from 52 to 21. Planning Manager Jeremy Neufeld says most of the people served by Drop Zone would not require parking stalls as they would either walk, bike, or be dropped off at the facility.
