A massive section of Steinbach is currently without power.

Manitoba Hydro says the unplanned outage happened at 8:20 on Friday morning. It says power is expected to be restored by 11:30 am.

The outage includes the majority of the area bordered by Loewen Boulevard, Brandt Street, McKenzie Avenue, and Hespeler Street.

Approximately 1655 customers are impacted.

There is no word on what caused the outage.
