Two professional volleyball leagues are merging into one in what officials are calling a “landmark move for the sport.”

The Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) and Major League Volleyball have announced plans for a single, united league that will be branded as MLV.

Officials say the league, which includes the Grand Rapids Rise , is poised to elevate professional women’s volleyball in the United States through a modernized business model with new team owners, league governance, ownership standards and an innovative approach to off-court player opportunities and fan engagement.
