JACKSON, MI – A downtown Jackson brewery is getting state money to expand its beer garden in an effort to enhance the downtown area and improve event capabilities.

Ogma Brewing Co. has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Match on Main program, with the help of the Jackson Downtown Development Authority. This reimbursement grant will help the brewery create a cleaner and more vibrant gathering space, co-owner Andrew Volk said.

“It’s just been two years where it’s kind of been usable for us, but not in its full form,” Volk said about the beer garden. “This is kind of the next step to getting it to a place where we really want it to be.”
