HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WETM) — An Elmira man was arrested in August on a felony warrant after deputies said he hadn't reported a new address to the sex offender registry in more than two years.
Eric L. Barnes, 34, was arrested in August on the charge of failure to notify the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services of a change of information within the required timeframe, a class E felony, deputies said.
In January 2025, deputies with the Chemung County Sheriff's Office were trying to complete an address verification for Barnes, a level 2 sex offender, at his registered address in the Town of Horseheads.
