When Ponoka resident Richard Bone learned he had stage four colon cancer in 2012, every single aspect of his life changed in a moment.
Following massive surgery, he was also told the following June he had a five percent chance of living one more year.
But Bone has an amazing sense of resilience and tenacity in the face of such odds.
He has focused squarely on the future, building up a positive attitude that is nothing short of inspiring for those who cross his path. And he wants to help others.
To that end, for the past several years, he has taken part in the Great Cycle Challenge Canada - riding to help fight kids' cancer.
This year, he's keeping things more on the local side as he hits the roads - with a goal of riding 500 km and a fundraising goal of $2,500.
