ANDERSON, Indiana — An investigation is underway after a police chase that began in Alexandria ended in a fatal crash in Anderson early Tuesday morning.
The incident began when Alexandria Police Department officers attempted to stop a truck around 2:15 a.m. Aug. 5 near Washington Street and North Park Avenue.
That truck didn't stop and continued into Anderson, where it crashed at 17th and Jackson streets. Anderson police confirmed the truck was previously involved in a chase with the Alexandria Police Department prior to the crash.
Anderson police said the driver was speeding and lost control while going southbound on Jackson Street, hitting a utility pole and two houses and the truck ending upside down in the road.
