Utah’s latest data on unemployment has been released. According to the Department of Workforce Services, June’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is estimated at 3.2% with approximately 59,461 Utahns unemployed. The June national unemployment rate is down a tenth of a percentage point at 4.1%. Locally, Daggett County’s unemployment has remained at 3.9% and Uintah County has remained at 3.3% while Duchesne County ticked up from 3.4% to 3.5%. The data also reported that 8 of the 10 major private-sector industry groups posted net year-over-year job gains. The overall gains are led by education and health services with 15,800 jobs, construction with 6,200 jobs, and professional and business services with 4,700 jobs.
