At a special Town of Kiowa Board of Trustees meeting on July 22, the board voted 4-3 to repeal Emergency Ordinance 4, a temporary moratorium on businesses, offices, and non-revenue-producing activities in the Kiowa Town Center.
Several business owners, property owners and other community members spoke at the sometimes tense meeting, with many stating they might be forced to take their business elsewhere. Things got heated enough that law enforcement was available to escort people out of the meeting, though they were never required to do so.
