CAMP NELSON - For anyone who’s ever driven up to Camp Nelson and the Sequoia National Forest one knows it’s a pretty twisty road full of switchbacks.
The weather was gorgeous for the Camp Nelson Mountain Festival this past weekend but on the way up the mountains looked dry, as there was a fire near the Flume early in July.
Sylvia Harral and the Crack O’ Dawn dancers were dancing and entertaining festival goers who were seated under the tables with long-awnings, while Patti Torrey and the Irregulars performed country-western and well known songs.
There were vendors selling tri-tip and pull pork sandwiches, Filipino and Mexican food. There was real ice cream, Dippin’Dots ice cream, fresh lemonade, and there was a beer booth.
