While the majority of people moving to DFW come from within Texas, new data underscore where North Texas holds the most allure. Oklahoma City topped the list, according to a U-Haul midyear migration report tracking moves to DFW between January and July.

Atlanta came in second in moves to the Metroplex and Phoenix was third. Within Texas, the most U-Haul customers headed to DFW came from Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Lubbock and Tyler — a city of about 112,000 residents located roughly 100 miles east of Dallas.

Oklahoma topped the list of origin states for DIY movers bound for North Texas and Florida was second. California ranked No. 5 on the list.
