AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Crime is down across the nation, according to a new FBI report — including in the CSRA.

Released on Tuesday, the FBI’s annual Unified Crime Report recorded overall U.S. decreases in every violent crimes, defined as homicide, rape, robbery and aggravated assault.

Richmond County deputies have charged two people in connection to a deadly shooting that left one teen dead and three other people injured on Sunday.

The same applied to property crimes — defined as arson, burglary, larceny and motor vehicle theft.

Crimes mostly fell in the CSRA, although Aiken was an outlier. Here’s a look at the change in crimes from 2023 to 2024 for our major agencies:
