MAGEE, Miss. (WDAM) - A multi-county shoplifting spree came to a halt Monday when a pair of suspects from Hattiesburg were arrested fleeing the Walmart in Magee.

Magee Police Department Chief Denis J. Borges posted on the department’s Facebook page that 31-year-old Jovontae Badon and 40-year-old Lovie Russell had been arrested and charged with felony shoplifting with a value of more than $1,000.

Several items were recovered.

“It’s in the thousands of dollars,” Borges said Tuesday. “And that’s just the Magee store.”

During the investigation, it was discovered that Russell had a positive National Crime Information Center hit for felony shoplifting out of Jones County.
