Change made to accommodate older members on early schedules
The Surprise Senior Center’s operating hours are moving up an hour to better accommodate members, the city said.
The center will benopen from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, starting Monday, Aug. 18.
The city said in a news release the move was to help “better serve the needs of our active older community members, particularly those who prefer to take advantage of programs and services earlier in the day.”
The facility at 15832 N. Hollyhock St. will continue to offer the daily congregate meal program at noon.
The fitness center and other programs, including lifelong learning programs, daily activities and other services, will fall within the new operating hours.
