PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Sunday’s heat didn’t stop the 29th annual Providence Bridge Pedal, as thousands of people showed up in Portland for one of the largest community bike rides in the world.

The first wave of cyclists started their ride as early as 7 a.m., hoping to beat the heat. And event organizers took precautions like putting out extra water stations with ice and Gatorade.

The Bridge Pedal has something for everyone with five different ride options, but all offer spectacular views from car-free routes across Portland’s bridges.

Young and old. Experienced cyclists and novices. Locals and visitors. Those who bike and those who prefer to walk. It’s an event people look forward to every year.
