CROWN POINT — Police caught up to a Hebron man who fled the scene of a crash that killed a motorcyclist late Saturday night and learned he believed he had struck a deer, according to court documents filed this week.
Leevi Taylor, 25, was charged Monday with felony leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death in the alleged hit-and-run crash that killed Jared Klassen, a probable cause affidavit shows.
Taylor was driving in a gold Ford Ranger around 11:30 p.m. when he struck Klassen, who was riding a cream-colored motorcycle with a red and black frame near West 133rd Avenue and State Road 55 in Crown Point, the affidavit said.
