PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office and the Rhode Island Foundation are now accepting grant applications for money claimed in a multi-million dollar settlement.

On May 21, Attorney General Peter Neronha announced a settlement with a company that violated environmental regulations that he called “unprecedented” in size.

Barletta Heavy Division, which worked on the Route 6/10 connector, settled the suit for $11 million dollars .

Attorney General Peter Neronha put aside $10 million from the settlement for youth dental care.

The state’s republicans disagree with Neronha’s youth dental care approach, and instead are trying to get the $10 million put back into the state’s general fund.
