Santa Cruz Valley United School District rang the first morning bells of the new school year on Monday morning, welcoming 3,481 students back to school. At Mountain View Elementary, parents and teachers led the young students to classrooms around 7:30 a.m., after a quick breakfast pit stop and, of course, celebratory photos. At Rio Rico High School, seniors still groggy from watching the sunrise earlier that morning donned homemade crowns and dashed through an inflatable tunnel, showered by their teachers and classmates with confetti. Principal Dagoberto Lopez then corralled them into posing for a class photo before shooing them off to their first classes of the day.
