SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) is doing its part to honor the legacy of a fallen SPD officer.
Officer Thomas LaValley served with SPD for four years before he was shot and later died while in the line of duty on August 5, 2015, while responding to a domestic violence call in the Queensborough neighborhood.
"The sacrifice that Thomas made was very selfless; it was a very selfless act to place yourself into the type of danger that he was faced with that night," says SPD Lieutenant Chad Dailey, who mentions how he was involved with the investigation following LaValley's murder.
