Head Coach Dominic Tillmon hopes to provide a spark to a deflated Thornton High School football program this fall. It’s year one for him on the Trojans’ sideline, and the team is aching to put some wins on the board.
Practices have begun, and the first games for many teams are approaching quickly this month. Thornton fans need something to cheer about after going 0-10 overall and last 0-5, last in the 4A I-25 League in 2024.
But Tillmon knows something about turning a program around. Last season, he was the defensive coordinator for The Academy of Charter Schools in Westminster. After a brutal 0-9 season in 2023, Tillmon and the Wildcats bounced back, finishing 6-4 and 4-1 in the 2A League 7 the following season.
He’s hopeful for a similar momentum shift at Thornton in his first season.
