SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — After the City Council's meeting, members met for a budget hearing, discussing budget proposals and an increase in the tax rate.
The council heard budget proposals from department heads, including police, fire and human resources.
An increase to next year's tax rate of .04 cents per hundred dollars of property value was approved. That tax rate increase will amount to about 60 dollars a year in property taxes for the average homeowner. The majority of the increase is to fund renovations at the coliseum.
