New York’s Energy Planning Board says the state is likely to fall short of its goal to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030.

A new draft of the state’s long-term energy plan outlines the steps to meet future energy needs, including a continued reliance on fossil fuels in the near future.

Doreen Harris, president and CEO of NYSERDA — the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority — joined “Inside City Hall” Tuesday.
