Authorities are searching for a person who went missing in a pond in a Chicago suburb Tuesday night.
Around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Wood Dale Fire Protection District officials responded to a report and video showing a person in a pond near the intersection of North Wood Dale Road and School Street in Wood Dale, the district said.
Fire officials on scene had not seen or found the missing swimmer as of 8 p.m., despite ongoing search efforts.
Divers and drones were deployed to assist with the search, officials said.
Officials are now considering the search a recovery mission, not a rescue.
The search will continue for "a while," fire officials said.
Further details surrounding the incident were not immediately known.
