SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The Lane Air Protection Agency (LRAPA) launched an investigation on Aug. 4 after receiving resident complaints of a foul odor smelled in different areas of Eugene and Springfield.

“We had gotten an uptick in complaints regarding a foul odor starting about on Friday and it went through the weekend,” LRAPA's public affairs and project manager Matt Sorensen said. “And so there was enough, there were enough complaints lodged at our office that we decided, ‘you know what, we need to do an investigation on this and see if we might get to the bottom of it.’”

Their investigation consists of multiple factors to determine where that foul odor came from.

“Part of our processes is that we really have to start working on what are the different vectors that are at play," Sorensen
