The U.S. Postal Service is hiring for rural carrier positions based in Juneau.

A hiring event will be held on Wednesday, August 6, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Juneau Job Center on Glacier Highway. No appointment is necessary to attend.

Applicants can get information about benefits, qualifications, and apply on-site using available laptops.

Starting pay for Rural Carrier Associates is $26.97 an hour, which includes a cost-of-living adjustment.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, pass a drug test and background check, and be available to work weekends and holidays. In some cases, 16-year-olds with a high school diploma may qualify.
