CHEYENNE – Arguably one of the most talked-about revitalization projects, the Hynds Building and the Hole in downtown Cheyenne may be nearing development.
The Cheyenne City Council Finance Committee met Tuesday to discuss a potential partnership with Cheyenne LEADS to fill the Hole – where Mary’s Bake Shoppe previously stood – and bring the Hynds Building back to life, which, with the exception of the first floor, hasn’t been used since the 1980s.
The partnership would be a part of LEADS’ Large Projects Gap Financing Program, which utilizes voter-approved sixth-penny sales and use tax funds for economic development.
