A Dracut woman who sat on a federal grand jury that investigated the state’s handling of Karen Read’s murder case and an unrelated Massachusetts State Police scandal admitted Monday that she leaked secret information about both high-profile cases.

Jessica Leslie, 34, pleaded guilty in federal court in Boston to criminal contempt. As part of a plea deal, the government and defense have agreed to recommend she be sentenced to “one day, deemed served,” meaning she will not spend any time in prison if the judge adopts the recommendation.

US District Judge Indira Talwani scheduled sentencing on Sept. 26. If the judge rejects the sentencing recommendation, Leslie may withdraw her plea.
