MERRY HILL, N.C. (WAVY) — The Bertie County Sheriff's Office said it is investigating a shooting on Highway 45 North in Merry Hill.

The shooting investigation is taking place in the 700 block of Highway 45 North.

The Bertie County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to avoid traveling in the area.

The sheriff's office said the incident "is contained"
