PINE BLUFF, Ark. — During a city council meeting in Pine Bluff earlier this week, 18 new recruits were presented to the city council.

On Tuesday, those recruits were also presented in front of their community for National Night Out.

National Night Out is a national event known as America’s night out against crime, and for those 18 recruits, this was their first opportunity to get to know more of their community — this time in uniform.

Tryvarious Cole was one of those 18 recruits. He is someone who grew up in Pine Bluff and wants to give back to his community.

“It is good for me to be out on a different side of the field, of the fence to show them like, hey, like, if I can do it, anybody can do it,” Cole described.
