Mary Keane discovered she was pregnant with her first child one week after undergoing tests on a lump she had found in her right breast in October 2023. She was 32 at the time, and after discovering the lump, her GP had referred her for a biopsy and an ultrasound.

“When I think of it now, I was so naive. I did not think anything of it,” Mary, who lives in Castleknock with her
