SPOKANE, Wash. -- Early election results are in for multiple city council, school board and fire district commissioner positions throughout the Spokane area.

In addition to four measures on the August 5 primary ballot, votes were cast for various positions in the City of Spokane, City of Spokane Valley, Cheney and Deer Park.

As of Tuesday evening, incumbent Zack Zappone is leading the race for his current City of Spokane District 3, position 2 seat, with 51.4% of the vote.

For Spokane Valley City Council, position 1, Mike Kelly is leading the race with 45.3% of the vote, with Kristopher Pockell in second with 32.6% of votes.
