LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has narrowed the list of states that could potentially be home to new migrant detention centers down to three, including Nebraska, according to a report published by CBS .
The other states being considered are Arizona and Louisiana.
In that article, Noem is quoted saying she has “appealed directly to governors and state leaders nationwide to gauge their interest,” in state-run migrant detention centers, adding that “most of them are interested.”
