WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- One person is dead and two others were hospitalized after a shooting broke out in Southeast D.C. Tuesday night.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) told DC News Now that the shooting happened minutes before 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 5, in the 1800 block of U Street, near Florida Avenue. There, responding officers found three people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officials noted that a man and a woman were both taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
A second man was also found at the scene, unconscious and not breathing. Medics performed life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead.
As of Wednesday morning, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. The victim's name has not yet been released.
