Police reopen Old Fort Parkway to traffic after completing preliminary investigation

A 23-year-old female pedestrian died Aug. 23 after getting hit by a pickup truck Aug. 5 on Old Fort Parkway, Murfreesboro Police reported.

Officers arrived at the intersection of Old Fort Parkway and New Salem Highway at 11:23 a.m. and began first-aid, according to news release from Murfreesboro police spokesman Larry Flowers.

Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department firefighters and Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services personnel responded shortly after and took over medical care. The woman was taken to a hospital, where doctors pronounced her deceased, the news release said.
