Claremont-based CommScope announced it will sell a part of its company to a Connecticut-based technology company for $10.5 billion.
Amphenol, a provider of “high-technology interconnect, sensor and antenna solutions,” will purchase the connectivity and cable solutions segment of CommScope.
In a press release, CommScope said it expected to have “significant excess cash” after repaying debt, redeeming some preferred investments and adding “modest leverage” on the remaining business.
CommScope said it expected to close on the deal with Amphenol in the first half of 2026.
CommScope, a communication infrastructure company, has called Catawba County home since it was founded in 1975. The company was originally headquartered in Hickory but moved to Claremont in 2023 .
