MIAMI CO. – On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, shortly after 6:50 p.m., officers from the Indiana State Police and the Miami County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of State Road 19 and County Road 150 East in Miami County for a report of a vehicle in a field.

The preliminary investigation by Trooper Andrew Baldwin revealed that Blake M. Walsh, 23, of Peru, IN, was driving a 2013 Dodge Charger heading southbound on State Road 19 near County Road 150 East. For an undetermined reason, the Dodge traveled off the roadway and came to a rest in a field. Further investigation revealed Walsh had suffered from at least one apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Walsh was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Miami County Coroner’s Office.
