SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - A Savannah man was sentenced to 595 months following convictions for drug, firearm, and jury tampering charges.
Malik Javier McKenzie, 27, of Savannah, was convicted on charges of: • Possession of Controlled Substances With Intent to Distribute • Possession of a Machinegun in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
During the trial, McKenzie also attempted to contact a juror to offer the juror payment for a not guilty verdict. This attempt was identified, and the juror was never contacted by McKenzie or any other party. Following the trial and an FBI investigation, McKenzie entered a guilty plea to a one-count information charging him with Obstruction of Justice by Endeavoring to Influence a Juror for this conduc
