HINESVILLE, Ga. ( WTOC /Gray News) - Fort Stewart is on lockdown due to an active shooter, according to law enforcement.

Four people have been taken to the hospital and one suspect has been identified by law enforcement.

Kessler Elementary School, Murray Elementary School, and Diamond Elementary School have been placed on lockdown, but a superintendent said there is “no immediate threat to the schools at this time.”

The 2nd Brigade area is also on lockdown, and all gates on Fort Stewart are currently closed.

No other details have been released at this time. This is a developing situation.
