ASHEBORO, N.C. — Two women are facing felony charges after the Randolph County Grand Jury returned a true bill of indictment related to the 2024 overdose death of a juvenile in Asheboro.

According to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to King Mountain Road on May 11, 2024, in reference to a juvenile overdose/cardiac arrest. The juvenile was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but died a short time later.

After an investigation, the Sheriff's Office sought charges against the mother of the juvenile, Carrie Jo Graves, as well as another woman, Amy Lee Locklear. In July's session of the Randolph County Grand Jury, a true bill of indictment was issued for Graves for second-degree murder without regard and another was issued for Locklear for felony involuntary mansl
