FORT STEWART, Ga. — Fort Stewart officials announced the identity of a suspect during a news conference after five soldiers in a shooting in southeast Georgia on Wednesday.
During the news conference, Brig. General John Lubas, Fort Stewart and 3rd Infantry Division Commanding General, said the suspect was identified as 28-year-old Sgt. Quornelius Radford, a logistics sergeant.
Brig. General Lubas said the shooting occurred at his place of work, and it involved his coworkers. Brig. General Lubas also said they do not believe it was related to a training event. At this time, a motive has not been identified. He also said Sgt. Radford did not use a military weapon, but it is believed he used a personal handgun.
