BOSTON —

The Boston Red Sox and rookie outfielder Roman Anthony have agreed to terms on an eight-year deal, according to ESPN.

According to ESPN's Jeff Passan , the Red Sox and Anthony are finalizing an eight-year, $130 million contract extension.

Anthony, 21, was the top prospect in all of baseball when he was called up in June. He is hitting .283 with a .400 on-base percentage, 2 homers and 19 RBI through his first 190 plate appearances in the big leagues.

According to Passan's report, Anthony's deal starts in 2026 and includes contract escalators that could bring the maximum value of the deal to $230 million.

Anthony is now under contract with the Red Sox through at least 2034.
