JACKSON COUNTY, MI – Eastbound I-94 at Elm Road in Jackson is closed due to a crash involving a semitrailer.

The crash was reported at 12:18 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, which is affecting both eastbound lanes, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The freeway has been closed while emergency crews are on scene conducting cleanup efforts. It is unclear when the freeway will be reopened.

Traffic in the area is experiencing major backups due to the crash. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and avoid the area.
