WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A 22-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday after police said he broke into a home and prevented the resident from leaving for nearly an hour.
Police said Shawn Robinson Jackson, 22, broke into a home on the 600 block of Summit Street. Jackson allegedly prevented the resident from leaving or calling for help for nearly an hour.
The Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) said they responded to a panic alarm at around 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday, but he left the scene before the police arrived.
At around 7:15 a.m., police said Jackson returned to the home and tried to break in again. WSPD said they responded to the area and found him near North Trade Street. Police chased him until they arrested him near Cherry Street.
